Romance Writers Weekly ~ Self Care

We’ve got snow in the East Bay of Northern California!! I can’t believe it. Usually we have to drive 3 hours to Lake Tahoe to see the snow, but it was on Mount Diablo! I’ve got to say this has been the coldest winter that I can remember. Snow even on the low mountains. Unfortunately no snow at our house. We tried to drive towards the mountain, but the parks had closed down all the roads. I get it, most Californians don’t know how to drive in the snow.

Now, back to the blog hop! If you missed what the wonderful Leslie Hachtel had to say, just click and pop back.

Our question today is: How do you take care of yourself? What do you do to practice self-care?

I have to admit that I don’t get the chance to practice self-care as much as I would like. Young kids, a part time job and chores shouldn’t take up all my time. However, sometimes it feels like I have no time at all. I do need to get better with self care.

I like to take bubble baths when I get the chance. I love going to the bookstore by myself and just browsing around then sitting a reading a book. I enjoying watching the Hallmark movies. My husband always makes fun of me for watching those movies, but hey that’s romance and they give some great ideas!

Sometimes making a delicious treat counts as my self care. Going out with a friend for a coffee or catching up with them over FaceTime also saves me. Sometimes I just need to vent and it helps to have some good friends behind you.

I’ve taken myself out to movies before and that’s nice. I get to sit and enjoy the movie and the peace to myself. Self-care is something I need to work more on even if it’s just little things like drinking coffee in bed and reading a book for ten minutes.

Well that’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see what the incredible PG Forte does for self-care. Until next time!

Check out PG Forte’s book Christmas Angel

Being fully transparent is good for a relationship, right?

Well, maybe not when it’s literal.

Christmas Angel is a second-chance romance with a celestial twist. Jake’s been sent back to earth to mend fences with his ex. Or has he? Certainly Tony doesn’t seem to think so.

Tony might have ninety-nine problems—and then some—between dealing with his meddlesome family AND running the family business (a Christmas tree farm in rural Texas) but he’s pretty sure that playing catch-up with his ex-husband isn’t supposed to be one of them. It’s a little hard to imagine what kind of future the two of them could have when only one of them is alive.
