Romance Writers Weekly ~A Few of my Favourite Hobbies

Welcome to the blog hop! I’m so glad you’re here. We had a three day weekend and my kids went to spend time with their grandparents. It was amazing to have a date with my husband where we didn’t get asked a thousand questions or had to yell at anyone. We got to go Ikea and look at all the furniture and to a movie, it was wonderful!

If you missed what the incredible Jill Haymaker had to say, just click and pop back.

Today we are asked to share one of our hobbies. What do you do when you’re not writing?

I love to swim. I’ve been swimming since I was about nine years old. Some days it feels like I’m slogging through the water, but most of the time it’s the most wonderful thing in the world. Swimming is one of those sports where once you learn you don’t forget. You may get rusty but your body just remembers.

It’s a lifelong sport you can do no matter how old you are. The water has a way of calming me, if it’s 10 laps or 100. I coach swimming now and I love imparting my knowledge onto the next generation. I want every child to have a chance to learn to swim. It’s a very important life skill.

I hope everyone can jump in a pool one day and feel the water all over you skin and the rush it brings. I also love to read anything I can get my hands on (duh!)

That’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see what the wonderful Brenda Margriet has to say. Until next time!
