Romance Writers Weekly – I Love Books

Hello everyone! It’s a marvelous Monday here. The weather has been a tad bit cooler which means I can still wear sweatshirts. We can go out and ride our bikes and take walks which is nice. How is everybody else doing?

If you missed what the amazing Clair Brett had to say, just click and pop back.

Today the talented A.S. Fenichel asks us:

Other than the genre you write, what kind of books do you love to read and why?

Give me a book and I will read it! I enjoy most genres. Romance didn’t become a favourite of mine until later in high school, so before then it was a mixture of different genres.

I love the Young Adult genre. Everything about it. I began reading Young Adult when it had it’s breakout. Now a days I feel like the genre has grown even more. When I was younger I found series like the Night World. There is something about this genre that captures my attention even now. I just finished a series called The Folk of the Air. It’s a great series about fairies and humans that live with them.

Another favourite of mine is science fiction. If you want a good science fiction book, check out The Rowan by Anne McCaffrey. It’s all about humans and their interactions with aliens living on different planets and how they can teleport. I like science fiction a lot because it can take you on an escape to a different time or place. Things that could never happen on earth will happen in these novels.

I’ve read mysteries, biographies, and horror, but those rank a little lower on my scale. I enjoy poetry and have written a lot of it. I like reading contemporary fiction and have a lot of those books in my library.

I will at least give a book a chance even if I don’t like the genre as much. Most of the time I will finish a book even if I don’t enjoy it. There have been rare cases where I quit the book.

So what should I read next? I welcome your suggestions!

That’s it for me today. Now continue on the hop and see what the incredible A.S. Fenichel likes to read. Until next time!
