Romance Writers Weekly ~ Favorite Themes

Hello and welcome to the blog hop! Thank you so much for joining us. I’ve been gone for a couple of weeks and it’s so nice to be back!

If you missed what the incredible Clair Brett had to say, just click back.

Today the wonderful A.S. Fenichel says:

Lately I’ve been thinking about the story themes that turn me on and inspire me. List your top ten favorite story or plot themes. It can be anything from Dragons to friends to lovers.

Here are my favorite story themes:

  • Enemies to Lovers – I love how they find each other and the love they have at the end.
  • Good vs. Evil – it can be used in so many different ways!
  • Time Travel – anything going forward to the future or back to the past is really fun.
  • Friends to Lovers – maybe because this has happened to me, but I love these stories.
  • Fantasy – different worlds, broken worlds, different futures, it all fascinates me.
  • Coming of Age – there have been some fantastic books out there lately with this theme.
  • Redemption – there is so much that can come out of this.
  • Female Roles – my all time favorite is The Song of the Lioness Quartet and Protector of the Small where one female disguises herself as a man to become a knight and the other the first woman knight in centuries. So Good!
  • Immortality – I love me some vampires! So many great stories.
  • Lost Loves – the way they lose each other and come together in the future tugs at my heartstrings.

I know there are more, but these are my top ten. Maybe I can use this list as an inspiration to write a new book.

That’s it for me today. Now continue on the hop to see what the amazing Brenda Margriet has to say. Until next time!
