Romance Writers Weekly ~ A Letter

#lovechatwrite

Welcome to this week’s blog hop! We were supposed to go into San Francisco and visit the California Academy of Science but my daughter was running a fever and my son caught a rash from a kid at school. Talk about ick! I’ve had to wash sheets and clothes every single day. I’m tired! I think everyone is on the mend now, keep your fingers crossed.

If you missed what the incredible Brenda Margriet had to say, just click and pop back.

Today we are asked to write a letter to one of your characters, either from yourself as author or from another of your characters. Here my hero writes a letter to the heroine.

Dearest Rowan,

I miss you so much. I’ve never been away from you or Gabriel for so long before. As I sit here in the freezing cold barn, my memories bring me back to when we first met. You were so stubborn and fierce. That temper of yours flared up, but I think that’s when I first fell in love with you. You weren’t like the other pampered misses. You knew your mind and weren’t afraid to show it.

I hate that I’ve been away this long, but I must go where the work takes me. I’m hoping the ideas they have in this small town can be brought back and put to use in the business to make it more profitable. I believe I will be back in two or three weeks. Hopefully this letter will reach you before I do.

There’s a man here that works with the other business, I do not like him. He reminds me too much of Nathaniel. His mannerisms, his looks, it’s like seeing a ghost. My grandfather didn’t mention another half sibling, I don’t think he would keep something like that a secret again. However, this man reminds me too much of Nathaniel. I continue to keep my guard up around him.

I’m glad he’s out of our lives. I was so scared when he threatened your life. But there you were, bravery shining a light down onto you. You saved me, you saved us. I love you more and more each day, and I cannot wait until I can tickle Gabriel and sweep those auburn curls off your forehead and kiss your lips until you are aching for more.

Until I return my love, I think about you every day.

Yours forevermore,

James

That’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see the character letter the wonderful Leslie Hachtel wrote. Until next time!
