Welcome to this week’s blog hop! If you missed what the incredible Brenda Margriet had to say just click and pop back. Today the wonderful Lyra Parish asks us:

When did you realize you would be a writer? Is it something you always knew or did it come about some other way?

What a great question! I’ve always had a journal and have been writing poetry since I can remember. I wrote poetry about everything. It really helped when I had a lot of things on my mind.

I didn’t actually think I could write a story until I moved to St. John’s in Canada. I had just gotten married and my husband found a job there. As soon as we moved I had to apply for permanent residence and that meant I couldn’t work at all.

I joined a newcomers group and I became close with one of the other women. It was she who suggested we take a writing class together and see how it went.

I was hooked after the first class! I loved writing about my characters, the settings and the happily ever after. I’m very slow at getting everything done and perfect. I started my novel in 2011, finished it in 2014 and have been editing ever since! I’m almost done editing so everything is getting very exciting!

I’ve since written a Christmas novella that will come out this year! Yay!

Writing is definitely in my future and I can’t wait to continue to write.

Thanks for joining, now continue on the hop and see what talented A.S. Fenichel has to say about her writing career. Until next time!
