Romance Writers Weekly – Works in Progress

Hello, happy new year and welcome to the blog hop! I missed last week but I’m back after all the holiday travel and trying to get back into the groove of everything. I’m hoping I will be able to get a lot of writing done this year. One of my goals is to write every day, even if it is just 100 words.

If you missed what the talented Brenda Margriet had to say, just click and pop back or continue on the hop to the amazing Leslie Hachtel.

Today the incredible Leslie Hachtel asks us: Give us the first three sentences from your WIP.

I’ve been working on a prequel to one of my other novels. I know the ending and it is not a traditional romance ending, so I need to think of a way to change it around. I don’t know yet how to do that, but I will have to think about it. So here is the first bit from it. I hope you enjoy!

Squish, squash, splat! The sound echoed through the great hall. Alanna peered around the door. Splotches of mud covered the front entrance way. She suppressed a groan. Why did her cousin always have to make such a mess? Another splat sounded against the window and a brown mass oozed down the glass.

Well it was a bit more than three sentences, but it was hard to stop. It’s still very much a work in progress and I know I have a lot left of it, but let me know what you think!

As I said, I’m glad to be back and writing again. Until next time! Enjoy the hop.
