Romance Writers Weekly – Winter Doldrums

Hello, hello and welcome to the blog hop. If you missed what the talented Brenda Margriet had to say, just click and pop back.

Today the amazing Leslie Hachtel asks us:

The doldrums of winter seems to set in for me about now. What are your secrets for feeling better?

At every point during the winter we can all get bored, cold, crazy. We want the warm weather back to play outside, dress nicer, or just look out the window and see sun.

There are a couple of remedies I have when the weather gets to me. I love to curl up and read a good book, or even re-read books that I own. Puzzles are always fun. I just recently bought a specific puzzle table so I can separate the pieces and then put them together.

If the weather isn’t too cold I will go out and do some sort of activity. When we lived in St. John’s we would go out snowshoeing, ice skating or sledding. Sometimes we would just play in the snow or go to a movie.

Here in northern California it mostly just rains and when it’s “cold”, it’s not really cold. Here we can still workout in the rain and we do a gym class that is outside rain or shine no matter what. I’ll read books, go to movies or play board games. I love board games.

So what does the incredible A.S. Fenichel do when the doldrums hit her? Continue on the hop to find out.
