Romance Writers Weekly – Tis the Season for Resolutions

Happy New Year! Welcome to the first Romance Writers Weekly blog hop of 2018. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with their loved ones. Now let’s start the new year off with some writing!

If you missed what the lovely J.J. Devine had to say just click and pop back. Today the amazing Leslie Hachtel asks us to: Talk about our New Years’ resolutions.

You know it’s funny, I don’t like the word resolution. I don’t know why…. but I do like the word goal. So this year I have set a couple of goals for myself.

Number one, which is always first since I began writing, is to write some more. This year I hope to finish a novella I’ve been working on and write a new story I have an idea for. Last year I spent most of the year editing and it was hard! I didn’t feel very creative. So this year I would like to spend it writing even if it is only 20 words per day, I will have gotten some words down on the page.

Number two is to spend some more time with family. I would like to visit family that I haven’t seen in many years. We would also like to take a trip back to Newfoundland and spend some time there. However, California to Newfoundland is NOT cheap and if we go, we would want to spend around 3 weeks there.

My last goal is going to be hard, at least for me. I want to “pop up” (Yea, I don’t wake up easily) out of bed when my alarm goes off and not hit snooze four times. I have the worst habit of setting an alarm and then hitting snooze. I want to work on getting out of bed once it goes off so I do have time to get my 20 words on the page before I have to run my son to school or the gym or some other chore that needs to be done. I realize how much time I waste when I hit that damn little button, so I’m going to try and be better!

Well those are my goals for 2018. What are the incredible A.S. Fenichel’s resolutions for this year? Continue on the hop to find out. Until next time!
