Welcome to the blog hop! I hope everyone isn’t melting into the ground like we are in California. It’s currently 30C/103F! Way too hot for me, instead I’ll say inside and do some writing. If you missed what talented Marc Stevens had to say just click and pop back.
Today I’m the instigator and I’ve asked my fellow authors to:
Start from the end. You’re the ghost of Christmas future. Write about your life from your funeral to the present. How were you celebrated?
The quote by T.S. Eliot that started me on this topic was “The end is the beginning.” If you could look back at your life, how would you feel? Well I would hope very, very happy. I don’t want crying, I want stories of joy, laughter and happiness. So here is what I wrote up, more like a poem.
It started with darkness, it ended with darkness.
I am cold, yet I am warm. My body is on two different coasts, my mind free.
An image shimmers before my eyes. My husband bravely holding my hand, my son and daughter grasp each other close and friends surround us.
Smiling faces of my grandchildren and great grandchildren stare up at me.
Of all the places we’ve traveled, England and Italy call to me the most.
The passion and romance I have for life fills pages of the novels I publish.
I’ve become a grandma, my heart has never been so full.
Love, laughter and tears have filled my life. I’ve always been loved and share my love with everyone.
Wedding anniversaries come and go. I still love my husband as much as the day we first met.
What wonderful adventures we’ve had together. We’re ready for some more.
I’m a mother, there’s no other feeling like it. How can there be?
Many friends, new experiences. I hope it never ends.
I’ve moved from one coast to the other. From California to Newfoundland, they both hold my heart.
What an amazing wedding. To be celebrate with family and friends is truly an amazing feeling. We danced all night.
The man of my dreams has entered my life. What fun will we have together? So much excitement awaits us!
Swimming and school surround me. Coaching new swimmers and loving their accomplishments.
I’m playing in the street with my dad and sister, we race down the hill on our bikes.
Family outings with grandparents, driving to Washington and Arizona fill my childhood.
A new little baby in our family. I am a big sister.
Cry, eat, repeat. The joy in my parent’s eyes.
It started with darkness, it ended with darkness.
What a wonderful life I’ve lived.
I hope you enjoyed this! Now continue on the hop and see what the wonderful Leslie Hachtel has to say about her life. Until next time.
