We finally have fall weather, yay! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. This past weekend we went up to a place called Apple Hill. It’s a whole bunch of farms that have fruit, pumpkins and activities for kids. My son got to go gem mining which he thought was a blast. My daughter loved the pumpkins and scarecrows. We got the most amazing pumpkin apple butter and it’s delicious!
Today’s topic comes from the talented Brenda Margriet.
NHL, NBA, NFL, WNBA, FIFA – Do these acronyms mean anything to you? Are you a sports fan, and if so, of what team/sport?
I love sports! My family has always been very active. I grew up watching sports with my dad. Basketball was my absolute favourite and I LOVED the Bulls and Michael Jordan. I still think he’s the GOAT (greatest of all time). We also watched and went to baseball games. My favourite baseball team is the Oakland A’s.
When I met my husband, he got me into hockey and we would go see the Calgary Flames play. Since we’ve been back to the states, we’ve watched the Flames play against the San Jose Sharks and that’s been pretty fun.
Swimming has and always will be a huge part of my life. I used to swim every day growing up, now it’s more like 2-3 times a week depending on the week. Whenever the summer Olympics are on, we will record and watch all the swimming. It was also so amazing to watch another GOAT, Michael Phelps.
I don’t watch soccer too much, although my son loves to play so we’ve been taking him to his practices. Have you seen Ted Lasso? It’s a show about soccer and it’s hilarious!! I love it so much. If you haven’t seen it you need to!
Now a days games are so expensive to get into. The only sports event that’s cheapest to take the whole family to is a baseball game, and that’s only if you get the bleacher seats. Forget about going to a NBA game, even NHL games are insanely priced!
We haven’t been to any professional sports games this year but we did do a lot of swim meets this past summer with my son on the team and me as a coach. Hopefully this next year will be different and we can go to some sports events.
