Romance Writers Weekly ~ Micro Flash Fiction

Welcome to the blog hop fellow writers and readers, I’m currently writing this from my in-laws house in Maui! The weather here has been so nice and warm compared to our rainy climate we’ve been getting.

Today I’ve selected the topic for my fellow authors and I ask them to write a 100 word flash fiction with the words spring, orange and park bench.


“Meet me at the park bench, you know the one.”

Aspen’s heart fluttered wildly in her chest. She’d found the note shoved underneath her spring doormat. Why would he write to her now? After all this time, when she’d finally moved on he came crawling back.
However, at the mere thought of him a low ache formed in her stomach. She wanted to see him despite everything. Aspen moved toward the door without thinking.

“You came!” Surprise rang in his voice.

Aspen glared, “why do you keep contacting me, Tyler?”

“I can’t live without you.”

“You tell me this now?”

His blonde hair fell into eyes and he lowered his head. “I’ve always loved you.”

Aspen shed the barrier around her heart, sat down next to him beneath the orange tree, and slowly entertained her fingers with his.
