Hello and welcome!
My name is Jenna and I am a California girl living in St. John’s Newfoundland. Well at least for the next couple of weeks. I’ve lived in Newfoundland for six years and have loved most every minute of it. The Juneuary a couple of years ago and this summer have been pretty cold! I’m looking forward to my warm, sunny California.
I’ve been writing poetry for many years but never anything much longer. Then I decided to take a stab at writing a novel when I moved to St. John’s. For the past five years I have been writing a regency romance. I love romance! I remember the first book I read; The Rose and the Shield by Sara Bennett. After that I was hooked. I own everything written by her and have added many more to my collection.
I began reading at a very young age and have never stopped. Growing up friends and parents would always find me with a book in my hand. Reading to me is a great way to escape and get caught up in another world. My favorite time is always curled up on the couch with a good book and depending on the weather a glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate. I hope I will transfer my love of reading to my baby boy.
Ever since reading my first romance novel, I’ve always wanted to write one. I joined an exclusive writing group called the Scribe Wenches and have had so much help from very wonderful women who will always be great crit partners. I have now joined a new group called Romance Writers Weekly and I’m excited to learn more from them and share my thoughts as well. It has been a very long journey. There are times I have wanted to quit, but I kept at it. After all this time, I finally have a completed novel! Yes, it needs to be cut down and edited but it is finished, and it is mine. I could not be more proud. I can’t wait to share it with the world.
Here is what my regency is about; enjoy!
Feisty, independent Rowan Hadley knows the last thing she wants is to leave the great society of London and travel to the unknown city of St. John’s Newfoundland. Due to unfortunate circumstances she must go through with an arranged marriage, but she would rather die than become an invisible wife. When she encounters the dashing Mr. Fairholm she knows her life is about to be turned upside down.
Dark and brooding with a staunch work ethic, James Fairholm wants nothing to do with the bride his grandfather has picked for him. He cannot be bothered to entertain a mindless society woman even if it is for a prestigious title. But he is irresistibly drawn to Miss Hadley, and soon she consumes his every waking thought.
Facing the challenges of social politics, mistaken identity and the threat of a family member, Rowan and James find themselves moving toward a love more passionate and captivating then either imagined or thought possible.
I can’t wait to share my thoughts about romance and writing with fellow romance lovers!
