Welcome to the blog hop! I’ve been off for the last two weeks because we took a long awaited trip to Calgary. It was amazing. We got to take the kids up the Calgary Tower and walk around downtown. The view of the lake every morning and night was just incredible. I love water and wish we lived closer to it. We stayed with my husband’s Nan and Pops. We traveled to Banff National Park, and oh my, that was beautiful! The mountains were enormous and didn’t have any snow on them. The last time I was in Calgary was 15 years ago and it was soooo bitterly cold with piles of snow! We also took the drive to Drumheller to see all the dinosaur bones. Did you know that they’ve discovered over 150,000 dinosaur bones there?! My husband’s friend from university took family photos which were for special. Overall we had the best time with friends and family, we truly enjoyed every minute of it.
Now onto the blog hop! If you missed what the talented Leslie Hachtel had to say, just click and pop back. Let’s move on to our topic.
Writing can be a lonely business. Share how you stay connected. Do you have an in-person writers group? Or chat with other writers on social media? Share your experiences.
I definitely agree that writing can be lonely sometimes. It’s just you and the computer or the paper, and you have to do all the work. When I lived in Canada I had a really great group of women I would meet up with and we would write together. I found that extremely helpful because I was just starting out and they had written books already. They were knowledgeable and had many great ideas. However, since I’ve moved I haven’t found a group I can write with or meet up with. I find it a lot different here.
This Romance Writers Weekly group is a great way for me to stay connected with other authors from all around the country. It’s a pretty awesome group of ladies. I’m very happy to be a part of this group and learn from their book releases and new books they write.
I would love to find someone to meet up and share excerpts with. I always like meeting in person. I chat with my favourite authors online which I think is pretty cool as well!
