Welcome to the blog hop everyone! I hope your Labour Day weekend was a nice one. We’re suffering 114 degree heat for the next week here in California. It’s insane! It’s way too hot to do anything except sit inside. I’m looking forward to next week when it cools down to the 90’s, hah!
Today we are asked what is the hardest part for you in writing?
So if you missed what the incredible Leslie Hachtel had to say, click and pop back.
There are many difficult things about writing. The number one thing is actually writing! You have to keep at it no matter what. I’ve been told, write every day even if it’s only 10 words, you’ve written something. You’ve put pen to paper.
Right now the hardest part for me is finding uninterrupted time. I know that sounds like an excuse but it’s hard because I feel like something always needs to be done. I have one kid in school full time but my youngest is home with me. There are chores for the house and then I coach swimming every afternoon in the fall/spring and mornings in the summer.
When I finally get the chance to sit and write, I’m tired and I just want to lounge on the couch. Sometimes I do my best writing when I’m sitting next to my husband and watching a movie. I need to make a good set plan to carve out that time to write.
I haven’t had the chance to start another novel. For some reason my brain is stuck and I can’t get past the first book I’ve written. However, I’ve written short stories, 1000 word, 250 word and 100 word flash fictions. The next one is a rhyming scheme. I think that one is going to be quite difficult but I’m up for the challenge.
There are other difficult parts to writing, however, timing is the crux for me. Maybe this year I will sign up for Nanowrimo and see if I can get something out on paper!
That’s it for me today. Continue on the hop to see what the hardest part of writing for A.S Fenichel is. Until next time!

When demons threaten London, even ladies must answer the call…Lord Gabriel Thurston returns home from war to find his fiancée much changed. She’s grown from a sweet girl into a mysterious woman who guards her dark secrets well. When he sees her sneaking away from a ball, he’s convinced it’s for a lovers’ rendezvous. Following her to London’s slums, Gabriel watches in horror as his fiancée ruthlessly slays a man.
Lady Belinda Clayton’s only concern was her dress for the next ball—until demons nearly killed her, and a group of Demon Hunters saved her life. Now, a lady by day, and a demon hunter by night, she knows where her duty lies. Ending her betrothal is the best way to protect Gabriel from death at a demon’s hands.
Gabriel soon realizes, like him, Belinda has been fighting for her country. He joins in the fight, determined to show her that their love can endure—even at the gates of Hell.
