Romance Writers Weekly ~ Writing Block

Hello and welcome! We’ve got our winter weather back and it’s supposed to rain for the next week! It’s good because we need all the rain we can get. Soon enough it will be hot and dry.

Today we are asked what do you do when you’re stuck in your writing?

I tend to do a lot of different things. I’ll try and write something else like poetry, or just put words on a page even if they make no sense. I’ll read romance books to try and get back in the motivation. Other times I’ll read a completely different genre to see if it gives me different ideas.

I like to watch movies or even though I get teased, Hallmark movies. But those are some of the things that help me when I’m stuck. Sometimes I have to take a step back and not write for a couple of days.

I wish the inspiration struck me every day, but alas it doesn’t. Most days I can motivate myself to keep writing even if I’m stuck. Listening to music helps me a lot.

That’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see what the incredible Jill Haymaker does when she is stuck in her writing. Until next time!
