Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend. The kids had an extra day off, so they went to my parent’s house for a sleepover. My husband and I got to go out on a date which was super nice. We went out to dinner and then to go throw some axes!
Today we’re asked: Have you ever written (or plan to write) a romance set in the winter? If so, does it differ from a summer one? How?
A while ago I wrote a novella set in winter. It was a second chance romance where they meet each other once again along the road at an inn. It’s been ten years since they’ve seen each other and there were secrets both of them held back.
I had so much fun writing that story! I think it definitely differs from a summer romance because you can be cozy around a fire and have many blankets to snuggle under. Something about a fire makes the scene romantic.
You can build a lot of emotions with the anger of a winter storm. “The storm inside her heart raged just as wildly as the one outside.”
It’s so much fun to write scenes set in both summer and winer. It totally depends on the story I’m writing.
That’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see if the talented Jill Haymaker has ever written a winter romance. Until next time!
