Romance Writers Weekly – Want Some Advice?

Hello and welcome to our weekly blog hop! I hope everyone had a good weekend. The smoke has been so bad here in northern California that it’s made it hard to breathe and the sky is a gray/orange mess. We aren’t too close, but I know others are and I hope they are safe.

If you missed what the wonderful A.S. Fenichel had to say just click and pop back.

Today the amazing Brenda Margriet asks us:

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Could be in writing, in life, for your career. What’s the one thing that has stuck with you through the years?

The best advice I’ve been given for writing is to just keep at it. No matter what. Write those three pages a day and even if those pages are the worst you’ve written, at least you’ve got some words onto the page.

My grandma would always say wise as an owl. I loved hearing her say that. To me it meant that no matter what you do, make sure be wise. Whether that meant be kind in a friendship or about a certain situation you were in, just be wise.

I’ve also been told to trust my gut. It knows what’s right. I’ve learned when I don’t trust it, things often go awry. Live today for today, you can’t change the past, you can only move forward.

There has been a lot of advice I’ve heard over the years but these are the ones that have stuck out the most.

Well, that’s it for me today. Now continue on the hop and see what advice the incredible Brenda Margriet has been offered. Until next time!
