Hello and welcome to the blog hop! I hope everyone has had a great week. It seems that everywhere else is in a winter storm blast. Here in sunny California it is well… sunny. I really wish we had colder weather. It doesn’t feel like winter at all. I miss the cold and the snow, I know I’m a weirdo.

Today I pose this question to my fellow authors:
If you could renovate one room in your house, which one would it be and why?
Oh man, what room wouldn’t I renovate! Right now, I can’t stand the downstairs of our house. I actually haven’t since we’ve moved in, but we needed to move and this was the best house at the time.
It is a long rectangle that fits the kitchen, the “dinning room”, and the living room. It is pretty much all jammed back to back to back. I wish we had a kick out from the window so we had a little bit of extra space. My husband’s office is downstairs and if we took out the wall we’d have the extra bit, but then we’d loose value on the house and a bedroom.
Right now our plans are to get the cabinets repainted. I would like to do a two-tone maybe white on top and a dark blue or gray on bottom. Then I want to get laminate flooring. I heard that’s the best for when you have young kids. My kids are hard on everything right now!
I keep looking through Pinterest and Property Brothers to get ideas of how to make things work in within a small space. They do some great things that blow my mind, but I feel like I need their expertise on how to do everything. I don’t think I could take this on myself. Not right now with distance learning in first grade and chasing my toddler around.
I think when my daughter is all out of the toddler stage we can move her toys up to her room. Right now we have them in a nook in the living room so it doesn’t make much room to rearrange. I think a rearrange would really help and make the space look a little bit nicer. We have some room in the backyard at the living room to push out the wall, but I think that would cost waaaaaay too much money. We might as well find a different house.
We have so many plans for the downstairs, so I’m hoping that just one of those ideas will make the space look nice and feel like new. New flooring and a fresh coat of paint will definitely improve the kitchen and living area. Now just onto the task of finding some good painters and a floor tile that we like!
That’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see what room the talented Clair Brett would like to renovate. Until next time!
