Hello and welcome! I hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy. We took a mini break and went up to Lake Tahoe for our anniversary. It’s about 3 hours away, up in the mountains, and my son and I discovered that it’s over 2 million years old! We all wore masks of course and kept our distance, but it was so nice to get away.
We stayed on the South Shore, which is on the border of Nevada and California. We were able to stand in two places at once!
If you missed the places the wonderful A.S. Fenichel had to share, click and pop back.
Today the incredible Brenda Margriet asks us to:
Go on a Travel Hop! Share the places and activities in the area around your home that you would recommend to someone visiting. Include photos and links so we can make future plans.
We live in a pretty small town in the East Bay of California called Oakley. However, there is so much to do in the surrounding areas!
You can go hiking, biking and camping at the national park Mount Diablo. Its peak is 3,849 feet and can be seen from most of the San Francisco Bay Area.

There is also the Iron Horse Trail that used to be a railroad, where you can bike or walk 32 miles from to and from different cities!
This multi-use, whole-access trail between the cities of Concord and Pleasanton follows the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way established in 1891 and abandoned in 1978. The completed Iron Horse Regional Trail, as of 2014, spans a distance of 32 miles.
If you do come for a visit, you have to go into San Francisco! It’s absolutely one of my favourite cities. Please come visit when you have the chance.
That’s it for me today, I hope you enjoyed the trip! Now continue on the hop to see what fantastic activities Brenda Margriet has in her town. Until next time!
