Thanksgiving was so late this year, I can’t believe we are already into December! Done with the food craziness and now onto the holiday madness. I’ve done a little bit of Christmas shopping, but I still have some to go. I have a feeling it’s going to creep up on me.
If you missed what the amazing Caro Kinkead had to say, just click and pop back.
Today the incredible Dani Jace asks us:
How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you have a theme? Show a picture of your favorite decoration and tell the history if it was handed down to you or something you made.
We love to decorate for the holidays! I have garland on the railing and lights all up outside. My husband usually puts up the lights and I would love to have more, but I think he’s afraid to climb higher on the roof, haha.
Our tree is a mismatch of ornaments from many places. Our tree topper is the Death Star from Star Wars which my son loves! We don’t really have a theme but I kinda like it that way. Each year we get a new ornament and put it on.
When I was growing up my parents had a fancy tree and we had a little tree just for me and my sister. It had all the ornaments we made throughout the years. I think we will do that with our kids eventually.
I don’t think I have a picture of our favourite decoration but when we lived in St. John’s we got a mummers decoration of three mummers. One for each of us. St. John’s has a special place in my heart so I will always cherish that decoration. A mummer is a person who disguises themselves in clothing and masking their faces using a mismatch of household items and travel from neighbour to neighbour. They usually say ‘any mummers ‘lowd in.’ I will definitely be handing down this decoration.

Well that’s it for me today, now continue on the hop to see what the talented Brenda Margriet has to say about her decorations. Until next time!
