Hello and welcome! It’s Thanksgiving this Thursday in the US and we are all getting ready to celebrate. My husband and I usually host, so this year we have 14 people! At least we don’t have to make everything, we do more of a potluck style. My hubby makes the turkey, brussel sprouts and stuffing, and I make the apple and pumpkin pies. Then we delegate to our family members to bring everything else like potatoes, green beans and cranberries. I can’t wait to eat!

Today the lovely Leslie asks us:
Two days until Thanksgiving. Share your favorite Thanksgiving recipe.
I do love sweets, mmmm pies… I always save room for apple and pumpkin pie, especially apple since it’s a family recipe. But another one of my favourite recipes is the brussel sprouts. Here is the recipe:
Brussel Sprouts Sauteed With Herbs (Serves 8-10)
- 3 lbs Brussel Sprouts, stems trimmed and any brown outer leaves removed
- salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup minced fresh chives
- 2 Tablespoons minced fresh oregano
- freshly ground pepper
- bacon (chopped cooked, if desired)
- Cut a shallow X in the stem end of each brussel sprout.
- Bring large saucepan three-fourths full of water to a boil, salt the water and add brussel sprouts. Cook until tender, 6-8 minutes.
- Drain thoroughly and return the pan of sprouts to medium high heat.
- Add the olive oil and heat, stirring to glaze the sprouts.
- Sprinkle with chives, oregano and bacon, and season with salt and pepper.
- Toss to coat well, serve hot.
I hope you enjoy this recipe, it’s one of our favourites! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have a great time with your family and friends. That’s it for me, now continue on the hop to see what recipe the incredible A.S. Fenichel has to share. Until next time!
Congratulations to A. S. Fenichel! Her newest book in the Everton Domestic Society series is now out!
A Lady’s Past
The greatest risk—for the sweetest reward…
His fiancée’s betrayal nearly cost Jacques Laurent everything. Despite his resolve not to trust anyone again, he can’t abandon the young woman he finds alone on the road to London. In the brief hours they spend together, the enigmatic Diana touches his heart in a way he can’t explain. Even after bringing her to the Everton Domestic Society for safe-keeping, he can’t get her out of his thoughts. And when he next encounters her, working as assistant to a renowned scientist, he becomes even more intrigued…
* * * *
The Society’s kindness is especially welcome after everything Diana endured in a French prison, but she fears for the safety of those who get close to her. French spies are on her trail, convinced that her scientific knowledge can help them win the war. As peril draws them irrevocably together, Diana and Jacques succumb to mutual desire. But love may be the most dangerous pursuit of all, when a lady guards her heart even more carefully than she guards her life . . .
