Hello and welcome to the blog hop! I’m in the process of updating my website so I apologize for the look of it. I’ve been wanting to refresh it for a while now and I finally have some time. Don’t forget to go back and see what the incredible Jill Haymaker has to say.
Today we are asked “Do you have a favourite board or card game you like to play?”
Oh I absolutely love board games and card games! I grew up playing Chutes and Ladders, CandyLand, Trouble, 31, hearts, aces. We would always have a night during the week where we’d sit down as a family and play. My husband and I are trying to do that with our son, but he’s very picky on the games he likes.
Our favourite right now is the Forbidden Island series. They now have four games of this series and it’s so much fun! You have to work together as a team to try and escape the island/jungle/dessert/sky. Try them, I know you will love these games just as much as we do!
The newest games we received for Christmas were a dice game called Quixx and a board game called Azul. The dice game is super interesting- you have four different dice colors red, yellow, blue and green. The red and yellow go up from 2-12 and the blue and green go from 12-2. Your objective is to roll the dice and cross of the numbers in each row. Azul is a great tile game where you try to get tiles laid down and points added up. I highly recommend both games!
I also learned how to play a card game called 7’s. It’s so much fun. You deal out all the cards and the person who has the seven of spades starts. The play then goes around the players, the sevens have to go down first, but you can’t lay an eight of hearts down if the eight of spades hasn’t been laid down, etc with all the cards in both directions. You want to get rid of all your cards because what you do have in your hand at the end of the game counts against you.
I could go on and on about the board and card games I’ve played, but then this blog would be a mile long. However, if you need any game recommendations, please let me know, I’d be happy to help!
