Romance Writers Weekly – Fun Fall Activities

Welcome to the blog hop! We are a group of authors writing different genres, but come together for all things romance. The weather is is starting to change just a tiny bit. The days are still warm, but the nights are getting cool. I love sleeping with the windows open and having that cool air surround me so I can snuggle under the warm blankets.

Today the lovely Fiona Riplee asks us:

Pumpkin Spice is in full swing right about now. It’s a crazy fall phenomenon that I look forward to every year. What are other crazy autumn activities that you look forward to?

I love watching the leaves change colours. I think that is one of my favourite parts of fall. When I was younger and we had big trees in our backyard, my dad used to rake up the leaves and let us jump in. That was always so much fun to fall into a big pile of leaves. I’m looking forward to taking my son on the perfect leaf hunt. Maybe we will make a wreath of leaves for our front door.

The cooler air is another fall favourite. I can still wear a t-shirt if I want to, but I can also put on a sweater and curl up with a good book. Going for walks in the fall is nice because you can enjoy the sunshine (depending on where you are) and not get too hot.

It’s time for all the hot chocolates and fall drinks to come! I will definitely be getting a pumpkin spice latte at some point. We usually host Thanksgiving for our families and I love baking the apple and pumpkin pies. I tend to bake a lot more in the fall because the kitchen won’t get so hot, and everything tastes so yummy!

Usually at the end of November they open all the outside ice skating rinks. It is fun to stumble around on skates and pretend you are in the middle of a frozen lake.

I think that fall is my favourite time of year because there are so many wonderful things happening.

That’s it for me today. If you missed what the amazing Brenda Margriet had to say, just click and pop back or continue on the hop to see what the incredible A.S. Fenichel has to say about fall. Until next time!
