Hello everyone, I hope it’s been a good week for you. I can’t believe we’re down to the last 14 days of school! My son will be moving to Jr. High this next year and I can’t even believe it. I hope he stays in with his good friends from elementary school and doesn’t get in with a bad crowd. I’m a little nervous, sometimes he can get into trouble. As school is winding down, swim team is ramping up. It seems like I’m always busy.
Here is today’s question: Why did you choose to write romance?
I chose romance for the same reason I like to read it, the escape is unavoidable. I love everything about it. Even though there may be some dark moments, there’s always a happy ending.
When I’m in the depths of despair, (as Anne of Green Gables would say) I lean towards romance and the way it can pull me out of a slump. The first romance book I picked up was when I was a teenager and just wandering around a bookstore. I must have been 15 or 16 because I could drive myself and I saw this cover with a man and woman and a rose. It was called The Rose and the Shield by Sara Bennett, ever since then I’ve been hooked.
I’ve dabbled in other genres but I always tend to add a little bit of romance to each story I write. It could only be a dash, but the romance is there.
That’s it for me today. Now continue on to the talented Leslie Hachtel and see why she chose to write romance, and don’t forget to keep the romance in your life. Until next time!

What she doesn’t anticipate is meeting the love of her life and facing untold risks, as well as experiencing the present day through the eyes of one from hundreds of years ago.
