Romance Writers Weekly –

Welcome to the blog hop! I hope everyone is having a good October so far. I love the fall and cooler weather and I’m definitely ready for it. If you missed what the talented Fiona Riplee had to say, just click and pop back. Today the amazing A.S. Fenichel asks:

Tell us about your latest novel and/or what you’re working on. Bonus points for sharing what you love about your genre.

As of right now I’ve been doing a lot of flash fiction contests. They give us a genre, location and object. So far I’ve gotten horror, fantasy and comedy. It’s been a lot of fun writing other genres besides romance. I’m still waiting to find out if I’ve made it to the next round of the contest. I can’t wait to find out what the next round is going to be.

I’m in the process of writing a prequel for my main novel. I thought it was only going to be a 10K but I’m way past that now. I will have to either shorten it or make it longer. I know how it ends, but I’m not sure people will like it. It’s not exactly happy, I just might need to figure a way around it.

I’ve thought about starting something completely new for Nanwrimo. I feel like I need to get creative juices flowing and start a new story.

I love writing romance because the characters go through ups and downs and there is always a happy ending. There are many trials the hero and heroine go through and a lot of it can be based upon everyday life. I think that is why I like writing romance. You can make happy endings when sometimes you don’t have them.

Well that’s it for me today. Now continue on the hop to find out what the incredible Leslie Hachtel is writing about. Until next time!
