Today the delightful Brenda Margriet asks us:

Let’s share our best life tips. The internet is full of hacks to make cleaning, cooking, packing and everything else in life easier, but which ones work and which don’t? Share your shortcuts here!

I don’t have enough hours in the day to clean, cook, write, work and play with my son, so I’ve tried many hacks. It definitely makes life easier. Although some shortcuts I’ve tried have not worked.

For cleaning I’ve heard that you should have items you clean every day, every week, every month, every 3-6 months and every year. For every day it tells you to: make bed, sweep kitchen floors, clean dirty dishes, wipe down counters and tables, do laundry as needed, clean coffee maker, wipe down bathroom counters and sanitize bathroom and kitchen sinks. Well that’s a lot to do EVERY DAY!! I wipe down the counters and do dishes every day, but I only sweep the floors every other day.

For packing I’ve heard roll all your clothes and put them in your suitcase. I’ve done both rolling and laying items flat and both seem to work for me.

I’ve found a good floor cleaning solution which is vinegar, water in a 1:3 ratio and a dash of dish soap. It takes all the grime and dirt off the ground and cleans them at the same time! It works perfectly for the tile and wood floors.

Now bed sheets…. those have always presented a problem for me. I can never get the sheets to fold perfectly like they do when you first buy them. Here is a video of what it is supposed to look like, mine never do. https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/cleaning/laundry/fold-fitted-sheet

Well, I can’t think of any other hacks or shortcuts at the top of my mind, so let’s continue on the hop and find out what the amazing Leslie Hachtel has to say. Thanks for joining and until next time!
