Hello and welcome to the blog hop! If you missed what the amazing Leslie Hachtel had to say just click and pop back. Today the lovely A.S. Fenichel asks us:
The winter Olympics are coming in just a few days. What’s your favorite event and Why? Do you have a favorite Olympic memory?
I’ve always been a sporty girl so I love when the Olympics come about. The summer Olympics are my favourite because I love to watch swimming, as I am a swimmer.
The winter olympics are fun to watch as well! It’s awesome to see everyone come together with their country and try to win a bronze, silver or gold medal.
There are a lot of good sports to watch during the winter games. I like to watch snowboarding, bobsleigh (how do they get in there so fast?), curling (so much fun until you fall and bump your knees), figure skating, ice hockey, long track speed skating (how do they go so fast without falling?), the luge (that one is kind of scary to watch), and ski jumping. I know, I know it’s most of the sports!
One of my favourites is figure skating. It’s incredible what these athletes can do with their bodies and on ice! If I tried to jump or do the splits I would hurt myself. Curling is another favourite because when we lived in St. John’s we had a couple of friends that made it into the Olympics and they taught us how to play, so that was pretty cool!
I always remember watching the Olympics with my parents when I was younger. We would finish up our homework early so we could have a little bit more time to sit and watch the extra bit of TV that wasn’t usually allowed during the week. It was nice to sit together as a family. Now my husband and I will watch the opening/closing ceremonies and the sports we both enjoy. I hope that once my son gets older, he too will want to watch the Olympics with us.
That’s it for me. Continue on the hop to see what the incredible A.S. Fenichel’s favourite event is. Until next time!
